EFFECTS OF THE EXCITING LIGHT INTENSITY ON THE SELECTIVITY OF CONSECUTIVE CHAIN REACTIONS

1982
The mixing time in a photochemical reactor can have a great importance on the rate of long chain radical reactions when the free radical chain carriers have a short lifetime with respect to this time. We show here that the imperfect regeneration of the reagents (and of the free radicals) in the reactor is at the root of the lowering of selectivity when consecutive reactions come into play.
