Endoscopic-Assisted Tendon Transfer for Extensor Pollicis Longus Rupture

2022
Extensor pollicis longus rupture is a known complication following distal radial fracture and results in significant loss of thumb and hand function. The rupture is typically treated surgically, often with an extensor indicis proprius transfer, with an open approach involving several incisions. An alternative is to perform the same transfer technique through one small incision using endoscopy. This chapter describes an endoscopic technique that has been used successfully over several years with good results.
