Registro hospitalar de câncer

2016 
in 1967, a group of professors from the College of Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo created the Oncology Center (CEON), to promote and coordinate studies and activities in the oncology field, that is, the Fundacao Oncocentro de Sao Paulo - FOSP (Sao Paulo Oncocentro Foundation). Purpose: present the work performed at Hospital da Mulher Prof. Dr. Aristodemo Pinotti – Complete Care Center for Women's Health- CAISM / UNICAMP, by a multidisciplinary team made up of oncologists and technicians from the Medical and Statistics Record Service - SAME. Method: describe the team practice, which, since 2000, records the cancer cases and keeps the data bank updated, with information on new cases and their annual segment, since, after the first care, the patient is included on RHC - Hospital Cancer Registry, with treatment being followed up along time. Results: reach the FOSP purposes, which are, carry out studies and researches on cancerology; promote the cancerologist education and training of specialized technicians; research new prevention, diagnosis methods and cancer treatment, as well as associated diseases; develop efforts aiming the identification and prevention of carcinogenic factors of chemical, physical or biological nature. Conclusion: the updated data bank maintenance, with accurate information, is essential to undertake epidemiological studies, essential lessons on cancerology; and for research purposes, teaching and assistance in cancerology, also enabling the technical and administrative cooperation with public and private entities.
