Measurement of equilibrium orbit of the beam in an NAP-M storage ring
1976
The equilibrium orbit of the beam in a NAP-M proton storage ring was measured by means of electrostatic beam-position pickups. Handling of the signals from the pickups was carried out at the first harmonic of the beam-revolution frequency, which varied in the range from 0.36 to 2.5 MHz. A description is presented of the equipment which was developed. The system operates for a number of particles in the beam not exceeding 1 to 2 x 10/sup 8/.
