Reflexiones sobre bioética y la atención primaria de la salud en el Ecuador

The right to health is a fundamental right that should be guaranteed through the application of several strategies, such as Primary Health Care (PHC). This strategy has been emphasized globally in the Declarations of Alma Ata and Astana and locally in the Ecuadorian Constitution and in several public policies such as the new Model of Comprehensive Health Care - Family, Community and Intercultural (MAIS - FCI). The objective of this article is to analyze, from a bioethical point of view, the right to health in Ecuador and its compliance through public policies focused on PHC.
