THE ANALYSIS ON FATTY COMPONENTS FROM THE ROOT OF ARCTIUM LAPPA L. BY GC/MS

2008
Fatty acids from the root of Arctium lappa L. was extracted by Soxhler extractor with ethyl ether as solvent. After being methyl-esterified under the present of KOH/MeOH and trimethylsilyl-esterified with N, O-bis(trimethylsily) acetamide, the fatty acids were analyzed by GC/MS. The results showed the extracting quantity of fatty acids was 2.18 %. The main components were linoleic acid, linolenic acid, oleic acid and palmitic acid. Most of the fatty acids were polyunsaturated fatty ones, whose quantities obtained by two methods were 75.63 % and 48.63 % respectuively. The method of trimethylsilyl-esterifying could more thoroughly analyzed the fatty components in root of Arctium lappa L..
