The Effects of Shear Span Ratio on Shear Properties of RC Beams Using Fiber Reinforced Porosity Free Concrete
2021
The objective of this research is to clarify the effects of shear span ratio on shear properties of RC beams using fiber reinforced Porosity Free Concrete (PFC beams). Therefore, the static four points bending tests were conducted with different shear span ratio. When the shear span ratio increased, the initial rigidity, the flexural cracking load and the diagonal cracking load decreased, but the density of diagonal cracks became large. Furthermore, the increased shear span ratio also led to the decrease in shear capacity when the failure modes were the same. Moreover, it was confirmed that the experimental shear capacity of PFC beams is higher than calculated shear capacity by following Recommendations for design and construction of Ultra High Strength Fiber Reinforced Concrete structures (UFC guideline).
