Fermenting ensiling effluent and percolating effluent are potentially threatening the environment, although basically avoidable through constructional and operational measures. The kinetics of contents in contaminated precipitation water shows that environmental endangerment potential is positively correlated with the quality of the remaining silage masses and negatively with the amount of rainfall.
