Open laser canalization in segmental arteriosclerotic lesions of peripheral arteries

1990
: The article presents results of experimental and clinical applications of argon laser with 514 nm wavelength, output power up to 5w for occlusing injuries of peripheral arteries. The radiation was given through a monofiber quartz light guide with a 400 mu diameter. The laser canalization was performed in the clinic to 16 patients with the 3rd-4th stages of atherosclerotic lesions of the arteries. The indication to operations was considered to be critical stenoses or occlusions of the peripheral arteries of extremities. Good immediate and long-term results were obtained in 8 patients.
