Clinical effect of negative pressure drainage combined with penetrating artery flap on diabetic foot

2014
Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of negative pressure drainage combined with penetrating artery flap transplantation on diabetic foot ulcer. Methods From February 2006 to June 2013, 56 patients with late stage diabetic foot admitted in our hospital were chosen, and randomly divided into treatment group (27 cases) and control group (29 cases). Patients in treatment group were given negative pressure drainage combined with penetrating artery flap for wound repairment, and the patients in control group were given conventional dressing changes combined with skin-grafting for wound repairment. The effective rate before skin flap transplantation operation, complete survival rate of the first transplantation and hospitalization days between the two groups were analyzed and compared. Results The effective rate before skin flap transplantation operation and complete survival rate of the first transplantation in treatment group was obviously higher than that in control group, there were signifi- cant differences(88.9%vs 44.7% ,X2 =9. 868 ,P =0. 02 ;100% vs 47.4% ,X2 = 14. 122,P 〈0. 01 ) ;The mean hospitalization days in treatment group were obviously shorter than those in control arouo, there were significant differences [ ( 39.3 ± 11.6 ) vs (50.8 ±21.5),t = -4.178, P =0.039]. Conclusions Closed negative pressure drainage combined with penetrating artery flap transplantation is an effective treatment method for diabetic foot, which can obviously increase the healing rate of pedicled skin flap transplantation operation and survival rate of the first skin flap transplantation, as well as shorten the hospitalization days.
