1P-330 : Preparation and Photocatalytic Activity of TiO 2 -Coated Fly Ash.

2019
Photocatalysis has been proved an effective technique for the removal of organic and inorganic pollutants from water. In recent year, TiO2 is considered the most promising photocatalytic material. Generally, TiO2 photocatalyst is used as paricle or powderm which is difficult to recycle. To overcome these problems, many efforts have been devoted to immobilizing TiO2 nanoparticles on variety of substrates. Fly ash (FA) is a by-product generated in coal fired power plants and may cause environmental pollution if it is not disposed properly. They are nontoxic, cheap, chemically and physically stable. So fly ash have been used as substrate in many fields. In this study, we prepared TiO2-coated fly ash and all samples were applied to photocatalytic decomposition of methylen blue. ** This work is financially supported by Korea Ministry of Environment (MOE) as Waste to Energy Recycling Human Resource Development Project.
