Expression and significance of interleukin 18 in patient with condyloma acuminatum.

Objective To determine expression of interleukin 18(IL-18)in condyloma acuminatum patients.Methods Expression of IL-18 mRNA in 20 condyloma acuminatum cases and 16 health controls were measured by fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction(FQ-PCR).Results Expression of IL-18 mRNA in condyloma acuminatum paients was significantly lower than that in health control(P0.01).Conclusions The low expression of IL-18 mRNA could play an important role in the development and process of condyloma acuminatum.
