Influence of Peiyuantongnao Capsules on blood fat in patients of stroke convalescence

Objective To observe the influence of Peiyuantongnao Capsules on blood fat in the patients of stroke convalescence.Methods All 164 patients of stroke convalescence were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=84) and control group(n=80),and then treated with aspirin enteric-coated tablets and acupuncture.The treatment group was given Peiyuantongnao Capsules additionally.The changes of NIHSS scores and blood fat indexes were observed before and after the treatment,respectively.Results The results of NIHSS scores in two groups decreased after the treatment compared with those in the same group before the treatment,and was more significant in the treatment group.In the treatment group the levels of triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC) and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C) decreased significantly,and the level of high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C) increased significantly after the treatment(P0.01).In the control group the levels of LDL-C and TG decreased(P0.01,P0.05) and the level of HDL-C increased(P0.05).The improvement of TG,TC,LDL-C and HDL-C was more significant in the treatment group than that in the control group(P0.01).Conclusion Peiyuantongnao Capsules had an obvious effect of regulating blood fat besides improving NIHSS in the patients of stroke convalescence.
