The Argentine ant

2008
Global biodiversity is changing at an alarming rate as a consequence of human-induced changes to the environment. The five main drivers of biodiversity change have been identified as altered land-use, climate change, nitrogen deposition, atmospheric CO2 enrichment and biological invasions. Biological invasions are the second most severe problem for global biodiversity, after direct habitat destruction and fragmentation.
