Luminescence properties of BaZrSi3O9:Eu synthesized by an aqueous solution method
2015
Abstract Samples of blue-green light-emitting BaZrSi 3 O 9 :Eu were successfully synthesized by using a novel aqueous solution method using propylene glycol-modified silane (PGMS). Luminescence properties of the phosphor were studied as a function of synthesis composition and firing methods. The synthesized Ba 0.97 ZrSi 3 O 9 :0.03 Eu+0.3SiO 2 phosphor showed high emission intensity (more than 250% of the reference, YAG:Ce P46 (Kasei Optonix)) and exhibited a flat excitation band ranging from 290 nm to 420 nm, suggesting that it can work when combined with commercial near-UV LEDs.
