A new prediction method for propagation loss in VHF

There are always some errors based on nonlinear equation by choice different models in propagation loss prediction. A prediction method for propagation Loss in VHF based on BP neural network is proposed, and the model structure of BP network is designed. Then the propagation loss in VHF is predicted using the measured data of the different terrain. The results show that the prediction accuracy of the proposed method is better than the nonlinear equation method, and the proposed method can be applied to different terrains and landforms.
