Deformable oscillation of particles patterning by parametric bulk acoustic waves
2020
Abstract The acoustic radiation force has been extensively studied for static particles patterning and dynamic transportation. However, for better manipulation, there is strong demand for the dynamic manipulation of particles patterning, which has not been fully investigated. In this paper, the parametric bulk acoustic waves are proposed to realize the deformable dynamic patterning of multiple particles. The bulk acoustic waves exhibit the manipulation of multiple particles for different morphology, which can be separated or merged together to various length of line segments. Further, the line segments oscillate in form of rotation, which can be controlled to arbitrary angles. Most importantly, the deformable oscillation of nodal lines is dynamically manipulated. Multiple particles are trapped to deformable oscillation lines, then the lines bend and elongate periodically. This work paves the way for the control of complex functional acoustic field, thereby enabling the dynamic self-assembly for multiple particles.
