Comportamento sedentário e estado nutricional em mulheres fisicamente ativas usuárias de academia pública

2019
Background: Sedentary behavior correlates positively with nutritional status and both are directly related to chronic non-communicable diseases. They also play an influential role in the repercussion of health promotion and recovery in the population. Objective: To analyze different levels of sedentarism and nutritional status in physically active women using a polo of the city's gym program. Materials and methods: This is a cross-sectional, observational study consisting of a population of 44 women attending public academies. Instruments were used to collect the socioeconomic profile, nutritional status and sedentary behavior. For statistical analysis, normality and normal distribution tests were used, 95% confidence interval and Student's t-test for comparison of groups, with a significance level of 5%. Results: The sample had a mean age of 49.84 ± 16.47 years, with an average sitting time of 184.8 minutes / day (m / d). The stratification by body mass index (BMI) presented mean sitting time of 140 m / d for ideal weight, 174 m / d for overweight and 217 m / d for obesity. In the comparison between G1 and G2, we obtained (p <0.05) between the variables sitting time and waist circumference, hip and weight. By BMI and sitting time, (p <0.05) comparing normal weight and obesity. Conclusion: Sitting time and nutritional status have a directly proportional relationship in the researched population, the higher the sedentary behavior, the worse the nutritional status.
