Process for producing fatty acid alkyl esters from triglycerides and alcohols using a combination of two lipolytic enzymes.
2006
Method for producing fatty acid alkyl esters, where it becomes a reaction mixture by contacting a solution comprising (a) a substrate, this substrate comprising triglycerides and free fatty acids, preferably in the range of 0.01 to 95% by weight of free fatty acids and (b) an alcohol, this alcohol is a lower alcohol containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms (C1-C5), with a first lipolytic enzyme having a ratio of activity on triglyceride to activity on FFA below 0.2 and second lipolytic enzyme activity with a ratio of triglyceride to activity on FFA above 0.5.
