Determination of Hydrogen Fluoride in Workplace Air by Ion Chromatography

[Objective] To develop a method for determining hydrogen fluoride in workplace air by ion chromatography.[Methods]Sampling was based on "Sampling Specification for Hazardous Substances in Workplace Air"(GB/T 160.29-2004).3.6 mmol / L Na2CO3 solution was taken as eluent and absorption liquid,SI-524E column and SI-90G guard column were used for ion chromatography(conductivity detector) detection.[Results]The method linear range was from 0.05 mg/L to 2.0 mg/L and the correlation coefficient r=0.9998.The detection limit for hydrogen fluoride was 0.005 mg/L and the recovery was 98%~103%,the precision was 1.2%.This method could effectively measure the concentration of hydrogen fluoride in the air.[Conclusion]This method is simple,convenient,with good accuracy and precision,and suitable for determination of multitudinous samples of hydrogen fluoride in workplace air.
