From a Microtip to a Planar Cathode — An Electron Source with a Simplified Technology

For more than a decade we have been observing the significant growth in an electron source development for the vacuum nanoelectronics. Here, we discuss the progress in the electron source advancement with a simplified technology, performed in our laboratory and dedicated to a miniaturized MEMS-type transmission electron microscope.
