Interpolation model of the anomalous Nernst-Ettingshausen effect and the energetic band structure of ferromagnetic nickel

1984
A sequential quantitative theory of the anomalous Nernst-Ettingshausen effect (ANEE) is constructed in this paper on the basis of the known relation between the ANEE and the real energetic band structure of nickel in the ferromagnetic state. The problem is solved numerically with the presence of states with spins both in and opposite to the direction of the magnetization vector in the electronic structure of nickel taken into account. Also taken into account is the existence of degenerate and quasidegenerate states not related to crystal symmetry. Integration is over the whole Brillouin band. Contributions to the constant ANEE are found for a one-phonon and impurity scattering mechanism.
