Features of peripheral nerve damage in patients with Parkinson disease

2012
Objective To explore the features of peripheral nerve damage in patients with Parkinson disease(PD).Methods By the standard of H-Y grade,32 PD patients were divided into PD mild group(17 cases) and severe group(15 cases). Each cases received the nerve electrophysiology inspection including limbs sensory nerve conduction(SCV),motor nerve conduction(MCV),and their latentperiod(LP) and amplitude(Amp),the LP of F wave and H reflex, the appear rate of F wave. The results were compared with control group(30 cases).Results(1) Compared with control group, the LP of SCV and MCV in PD mild group and severe group were significantly longer, the Amp were significantly reduced,SCV and MCV of lower limbs were significantly slow down, the LP of F wave and H reflex were significantly longer, the appear rate of F wave was lower(all P0.05).(2) Compared with PD mild group, the SCV of lower limbs in PD severe group were significantly longer, the Amp of SCV and MCV were significantly reduced, the LP of F wave was significantly longer, and appear rate was significantly lower(all P0.05).Conclusions In PD patients, the peripheral nerve damage of lower limb is more serious than upper limb, the damage of sensory nerve is more serious than motor nerve, and which is related with PD condition.
