Caso infrecuente de enfermedad de Crohn duodenal

2019
The prevalence of Crohn's disease limited to the duodenum represents 0,5-4% of the cases, being more frequent its coexistence with the gastric and ileal affectation. Due to the low prevalence of duodenal Crohn's disease, we present the case of a 40-year-old male with a melena’s clinic that, after performing an endoscopic and anatomopathological study, confirmed the diagnosis of duodenal Crohn's disease. The therapeutic approach required high-dose corticosteroid therapy with a descending pattern and follow-up in consultation to complete the study; Whose evolution finally led to the need for a surgical approach to the lesion. Due to the atypical of the disease and the torpid evolution of our patient we present the following case.
