Multipoint traffic transmission in a communication network

The network equipment, comprising means for point-to-point routing (OSPF, RIP, PR), and multicast routing means (PIM-SM), characterized in that the point-to-point routing means are capable of associating to roads (R1) added to the basic routes, a flag (F1) indicating whether the route can support a multipoint traffic or not contained in the routing information, and multicast routing means are provided for choose only the best route among the roads associated with a flag indicating that it can support a multipoint traffic.
