INTERNACIONALIZAÇÃO E TEORIA INSTITUCIONAL: Um Estudo Bibliométrico da Combinação das Teorias

Neste estudo bibliometrico, pesquisou-se sobre a combinacao de duas teorias, a de internacionalizacao e a institucional, em oito periodicos internacionais de administracao. Foram utilizadas ferramentas bibliometricas para analise de citacao, cocitacao, analise fatorial e o escalonamento multidimensional para identificar as tematicas que emergem da combinacao destas teorias (estrategias de internacionalizacao, tipos de investimentos e multinacionais e perspectiva institucional na internacionalizacao). A amostra utilizada foi composta por 61 artigos e mais de 3 mil referencias citadas. Pode-se verificar o aumento de interesse no tema devido a evolucao de publicacoes. Os trabalhos mais citados foram agrupados em tres fatores que representam as perspectivas conceituais utilizadas. Os resultados evidenciam um crescimento no interesse da tematica, em que a teoria institucional esta despertando interesse por parte dos pesquisadores para conhecer melhor as “regras do jogo” no processo de internacionalizacao. INTERNATIONALIZATION AND INSTITUTIONAL THEORY: A Bibliometric Study of Theory Combination  ABSTRACT This bibliometric study investigated the combination of two theories of internationalization and institutional theory in eight international business journals. Bibliometric tools were used for citation analysis, co-citation, factor analysis and multidimensional scaling to identify the themes emerging from the combination of these theories (internationalization strategies, types of investments and multinational and institutional perspective on internationalization). The sample used was composed by 61 articles and more than 3 thousand references cited. One can verify the increase of interest in the subject due to this evolution of publications. The most cited papers were grouped into three factors that represent the conceptual perspectives used. The results evince a growth in the interest of the subject, in which institutional theory is arousing interest on the part of the researchers to know better the "game rules" in the process of internationalization.
