Studies on the regulation of selective autophagy and related disease by sequestosome 1/p62

Sequestosome 1 (p62/SQSTM1) is classically known as the scaffold protein implicated in selective autophagy which is induced by the stress of cells.P62 contains various protein interaction domains which can binding poly-ubiquitin proteins and then degrading them,play an important role in signal transduction pathways.Studies suggest that p62 dysregulation is associated with various diseases,such as neurodegenerative diseases,diabetes,obesity and cancer.
