Sturge-Weber syndrome with adult-onset glaucoma

1997
A 46-year-old white male, with a right homonymous hemianopsia since infancy and partial complex seizures since his teens developed a port-wine stain on the forehead and upper eyelid in the distribution of the ophthalmic branch of the right trigeminal nerve. The patient was found to have hemangiomas of the right upper eyelid and dilated episcleral vessels OD. Applanation tonometry revealed a slightly elevated intraocular pressure in the right eye, but no glaucomatous changes were noted on Goldman or Humphery Visual Fields. CT scan of the head displayed clusters of serpiginous calcifications in the parietooccipital region.
