Introduction of In-Service Optical Path Measurement

The concept of In-Service Optical Path Measurement (ISOPM) for mesh networks is introduced. PMD measurement within bandwidths of 50-GHz spaced DWDM channels along with multiple working channels, as an example, shows the feasibility of ISOPM.
