Research progress of biomimetic passivation of magnesium alloys for biomedical applications

Among the functionalization of surface modification techniques of medical magnesium alloy,biomimetic passivation has incomparable advantage over other methods.Biological apatite film which has excellent bioactivity,biocompatibility,and anticorrosion function can be formed on in-situ surface of magnesium alloy by biomimetic passivation,completely meeting the strict requirements of surface quality of magnesium alloy for biomedical use.The research progress of biomimetic passivation of magnesium alloys for biomedical applications was reviewed in aspects of pretreatment,passivation process,and post-treatment.The development trend of biomimetic passivation technology was prospected.
