Statistical analysis to evaluate the quality of an online practice test
2021
This paper describes the statistical analysis of an online practice test, developed on the grounds of the story “The Lumber Room” by Saki. The test contains 62 multiple-choice questions and 4 open-ended test items, constructed in accordance with specifically developed criteria, and it was taken by 37 first-year university students. The quality of each test question was evaluated as well as the quality of the test as a whole, including the difficulty level of the items, their discrimination, a distractor analysis, and the item-test correlation, along with the reliability and validity of the test. As a result of the performed analysis, conclusions were drawn regarding the student achievement and some corrections to the test questions were made.
