2021
Introduction: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative and progressive condition that leads to important changes in the patient’s family and social environment. The project came to be through the situational diagnosis of the patients with PD and the demand presented by community. Objectives: Develop an interprofessional therapeutic plan to care for PD patients and their caregivers. Enhance the ability to be an attentive listener to the patients' and caregivers' demands. Methods: Exploratory research, with the development of an intervention project based on the demands of PD patients and their caregivers. The project consisted of onsite group meetings. Results: The multi-professional residents conducted the groups and highlighted the importance of the active methodology they used in the meetings. Among the participants, five agreed to the home visit. From the material collected in these visits’ narratives, genograms, and ecomaps were constructed for each of the participants. Conclusion: The group contributed to offering autonomy, quality information, and an opportunity to socialize to all the participants. Acknowledging the importance of this framework of care, the following year the service integrated the project into its daily practice.
