Experimental study on the regulative effect of paecilomyces total polysaccharides on immunologic function in old rats

2005
Objective To study the effect of paecilomyces cicadidae total polysaccharides on the immune regulative function of the liver, kidney, spleen and thymus in old rats. Methods The activities of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), acid phosphatase (ACP) and arginase (Arg) were detected by automatic biochemistry analyzer. The reduced glutathione (GSH) level and the lipid peroxide (LPO) content were assayed. Results Compared with control group, the activities of ACP, LDH (liver, kidney, spleen) and Arg (liver, kidney, thymus), the level of GSH (liver and kidney) were significantly increased, and the LPO content was declined in the liver and kidney markedly. Conclusions Paecilomyces cicadidae total polysaccharides can promote immunologic function of tissues and organs in old rats.
