Modernization of the power unit no. 5 of the Razdan TPP with a gas-turbine topping according to a discharge arrangement

We present the main reasons for reconstruction of the standard 300 MW power unit with K-300-240 steam turbine into the combined-cycle installation using an Alstom gas-turbine unit with an installed capacity of 180 MW. Implementation of the project makes it possible to increase the unit capacity of the power unit, without hardly any changes in existing infrastructures, most efficiently use organic fuel, as well as reduce hazardous emissions under combined (steam-gas) and independent (using steam cycle) modes of operation.
