Method for removing organic solvent from waste water

PURPOSE: To reduce the concn. of org. impurities in waste water resulting from the preparation or use of paint by clarifying the waste water by extraction with a monoalcohol having a specified number of carbon atoms in the molecule. CONSTITUTION: Waste water resulting from the preparation or use of paint is clarified by extraction with a monoalcohol having ≥8 carbon atoms in the molecule. The alcohol may contains 8-16 carbon atoms in the molecule and 2-ethylhexanol may be used. The concn. of org. impurities in the waste water is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
