Structural manifestations of relaxation processes in titanium single crystals

Experimental data presented in this work are indicative of the existence of relaxation processes in α-titanium single crystals grown by the floating-zone method. The relaxation processes were studied immediately after the passage of the front of the β → α transformation. It is shown that the character of structural manifestations of these relaxation processes and their efficiency depend on the purity of the material and crystallographic orientation of the single crystals.
