Desequilibrios metabólicos con especial referencia a las carenciales de minerales asociadas a problemas reproductivos en vacas lecheras de Cuba

The objective of this study was to diagnose the principal metabolic imbalances and deficiencies associated with reproductive disorders especially due to mineral deficiency in crossbreed (Holstein × Cebu) dairy cows under restrained system of production in the central region of Cuba. The study was conducted in a dairy herd with deteriorated principal reproductive efficiency indicators, 50 animals were selected, metabolic minerals, proteins and hemogasometric parameters were evaluated. Descriptive statistic, data distribution type, range reference and the proportion of animals with normal values, suspected or pathologic for all variables were calculated. For the study of the principal factors that determine reproductive alterations in the herd, principal component analyses were calculated. In the animals diagnosed, 68 and 56% had Cu and P deficiencies and the state of hypoproteinemia and hypomagnesaemia were also found in the same order respectively.
