Synthesis and electrical properties of single crystalline black phosphorus nanoribbons

As a promising layered material for electronics, optics and thermoelectric applications, black phosphorus nanoribbons have attracted much attention. Herein, single crystal black phosphorus nanoribbons have been successfully grown by chemical vapor transport. The microstructure characterizations clearly reveal that the zigzag direction is the preferentially growing direction of nanoribbon. The performance of FETs shows the good electrical property of black phosphorus. Our research provides an economical method for growing high quality BPNRs, offering more possibilities for experimental research and their applications.
