Effect of 1-carboxymethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride, [HOOCMMIM][Cl], ionic liquid on volumetric, acoustic and transport behavior of aqueous solutions of l-serine and l-threonine at T=298.15K

2015
Abstract Apparent molar volumes, V ϕ , apparent molar isentropic compressibilities, K s , Φ , and relative viscosities, η r , for l -serine and l -threonine in aqueous solutions of 1-carboxymethyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride, [HOOCMMIM][Cl], and also aqueous solutions of [HOOCMMIM][Cl] have been obtained from solution density, sound velocity and viscosity measurements at T  = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. These data are used to derive the standard partial molar volumes, V ϕ 0 , hydration number, ( n H ), standard partial molar isentropic compressibilities, K s , Φ 0 , and viscosity B -coefficients of l -serine and l -threonine in aqueous [HOOCMMIM][Cl] solutions and for [HOOCMMIM][Cl] in water. The corresponding quantities of transfer from water to aqueous solutions of [HOOCMMIM][Cl], (Δ V ϕ 0 ,Δ K S , Φ 0 ,Δ B ), have also been obtained. The trends of transfer volumes have been interpreted by cosphere overlap model.
