The present invention relates to coating compositions for metallic devices, particularly airplanes. The present invention more specifically relates to coating compositions providing protection against the corrosion. One aspect of the present invention relates to ceramic particles containing at least one releasable active material substantially homogeneously distributed throughout each particle, characterized in that at least said active material is a corrosion inhibitor. Another aspect of the present invention relates to a coating composition comprising ceramic particles, said particles comprising at least one releasable active material substantially homogeneously distributed throughout each particle. Another aspect of the present invention relates to the use of said coating composition to provide a metallic device protection against corrosion.
