Detection state refinement in FM multistatic passive radar

Target localisation in multi-static radar generally results in position errors larger than the standard deviation in range resolution. Frequency Modulation (FM) based passive radar is even more susceptible to large position errors due to the poor range accuracy inherited from the transmitted signal. This paper proposes a method for including Doppler measurements into the estimation procedure. The performance of the proposed technique is evaluated through simulation, and compared to alternative localisation techniques. It was found that doing so increased localisation accuracy for most geometries in FM based passive radar.
