OCORRÊNCIA DE PARASITOS E COMENSAIS INTESTINAIS NUMA POPULAÇÃO DE ESCOLARES DO MUNICÍPIO DE URUAÇU, GOIÁS.

The aim of this research was investigate the prevalence of intestinal parasites and commensals among students of public schools in Uruacu (GO). Samples of 201 students from four public schools were analyzed, with 34,3% of positive fecal sample for intestinal parasites and commensals. Giardia intestinalis was the most common intestinal parasite (15,9%). The intestinal commensals that were most commonly find were: Entamoeba coli (15,4%) and Endolimax nana (14,4%). The prevalence rate for the parasite Giardia intestinalis is a given condition which suggests a poor sanitation, since the route of human infection by this parasite is mainly drinking water without treatment or poorly treated (only chlorine).
