Evaluating environmental impact of Ockhi Cyclone in Kanyakumari District

Natural calamities are occurrences that keep threatening the world. The disasters that hit various parts of the world depend on the climatic conditions of a place. Cyclones are violent storms that are accompanied by rain along with thunder and lightning. A cyclone is capable of disturbing normal life and bringing in a lot of destruction to a place. The effects of Cyclone can be even loss of lives, fallen trees, destruction of houses, shops and crops, boats sinking permanently into the seas. This project work is to study about the impacts of Ockhi cyclone occurred in the year 2017 respectively. The third and strongest storm of the 2017 North Indian Ocean Cyclone season Ockhi originated from an area of disturbed weather near Sri Lanka on November 29. The highest wind speed of the cyclone was 155 km/h. In this project we are going to study about how the people suffered and how long it took for them to recover their normal life and also to know why cyclones are terrible these days and the source for the cause and their precautionary measures after and before cyclones and also do’s and don’t. Also we get ideas to prevent the damages which could be made by future cyclones.
