Two-phase authentication and encryption algorithm for mobile users

2018
From the multitude of problems regarding the security of distributed communication systems, composed of mobile and fixed networks, the present work focuses on some modern, possible approaches and corresponding, efficient solutions, applicable for encryption and authentication purposes in an end-to-end information exchange among mobile users. The main objective is to present a method developed to maintain the information security during the whole communication process by integrating an encryption algorithm, the characteristics of individual fingerprint and user's iris. The processed fingerprint of dialog partners, to which the current geographical position is associated, is used for the generation of a symmetric key having a short life span. The method is suitable in the case of a distributed network, for the authentication of dialogue partners and the encryption of their sent information, especially in the case of mobile communications.
