Perturbed γ-γ angular correlations of 111mCd bound on DNA

1979
Abstract In the experiments described in this paper the γ-γ angular correlation in the decay of 111m Cd was used to determine the influence of the temperature on the nature of the binding of Cd with DNA-molecules. The results indicate that by increasing temperature the Cd ions migrate from a site where they are rather weakly bound to a site with a more rigid binding. Due to the denaturation of the DNA at elevated temperature a binding between Cd and the bases in DNA is supposed.
