A green alternative for aryl iodide preparation from aromatic amines.

2020
A green alternative for the preparation of the aryl iodides from the respective aromatic amines is developed. In the current protocol, the reagents were chosen based on the cost, commercial availability, and biodegradability, eco-friendly, and safety aspects. The intermediates could be separated and stored in the solution form at low temperatures with no significant loss activity. The merits of the current protocol included the partial recovering of reagents viz. saccharin and tetraethylammonium cation, cost-effective energy efficiency by avoiding the isolation and purification of the intermediates, good yield of the sterically hindered substrates, avoiding and reducing the generation of heavy metal or corrosive waste.
