Endogenous fructose is correlated with urinary albumin creatinine ratios and uric acid in type 2 diabetes mellitus

2021
Abstract Aim To detect the expression levels of fasting serum fructose and ketohexokinase (KHK) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) at different stages of urinary albumin creatinine ratios (UACR) and serum uric acid (sUA). Methods 339 T2DM patients and 107 normal volunteers were divided into the normal uric acid (275 cases) and high uric acid group (171 cases) according to uric acid levels. T2DM patients were divided into the normal albuminuria group (118 cases, UACR   300 mg/g). Levels of fasting serum fructose and KHK were detected and statistical analysis was carried out. Results Fasting serum fructose and KHK levels increased with the increase of UACR and sUA (P  Conclusion Fasting serum fructose and KHK in endogenous fructose are associated with serum uric acid and urinary albumin levels in patients with T2DM.
