Macrokinetics of electron beam-initiated thermoradiation processes of carbon gasification

The macrokinetics of the gasification of activated carbon (type BAU) and Kansko-Achinski coal with H{sub 2}O and CO{sub 2} was studied using an electron accelerator (E{sub 3} = 3 MeV, P = 0.5 kW). The experiments were conducted under flow-through conditions in metal equipment at temperatures to 1200{degree}C and energy generation to 40 W/cm{sup 3}. It is shown that the existence of the characteristic dependences of the rates of the thermoradiation processes on beam power and flow rate of gasifying agent is connected with the high activation energy of the processes and sharp spatial nonisothermicity.
