Method for determining the absolute three-dimensional reception sensitivity maps for receiving coils (4) in a magnetic resonance apparatus (1), in particular a a basic magnetic field strength of at least 3 T having magnetic means (1), in the presence of the reception sensitivity influencing examination object, characterized by the following steps: - determining spatially resolved, electromagnetic properties of the object to be examined object descriptive parameters - Determination of the spatial arrangement of the receiver coils (4) in the magnetic resonance device (1) descriptive coil geometry parameters, - determination of the reception sensitivity map by simulation in a process described by the object parameters and the coil geometry parameters of the model.
