Summary Austrian's triad is a rare complication of disseminated Streptococcus pneumoniae infection consisting of pneumonia, meningitis, and endocarditis. We report what we believe to be the first case of Austrian's triad further complicated by purulent pericarditis and cardiac tamponade, and review the relevant literature.
